The night sky was a eerie shade of dark purple, it's clouds black like tar and lined with the silver light of the moon. The town known simply as Toon-Town had frozen in time, not a single sound breaking its beautiful tranquility. Until...

A blue furred feline slowly leaned out from a wall to check if the coast was clear, pointed ear's pricking up to try and detect even the slightest hint of a sound.Nothing was heard, eagerly he rubbed his paws at the thought of the fortune he would find within. Someone had told him that the castle was an easy target, With the grace found only in cat's like him, he pounced upwards onto the castle walls, using his claw's to dig into the weakened parts and hoist him up-towards a open window above. In mere seconds he had already found his way inside, landing onto the floor as softly as a feather.

He had entered a large corridor, but not just any corridor. All across the white wall's their were many art-works, clearly centuries old. The blue cat felt like he had stumbled into a museum. With a casual stride he walked around admiring it's splendor, while also trying to figure out which one to steal. His bag was only large enough to carry one. "Which one, which one..." He looked at one that appeared to be of a young lizard lady with a beautiful scenery behind her.

With careful paws he took if down from where in hung, "Mono Lizard..." he read out loud from the golden frame, "Nah." He tossed it to the floor and kept looking.

For what felt like a eternity he kept up his search, the adrenaline from breaking in making him more nervous by the second 'Sooner i'm out the better.' he thought to himself, his eyes and ears were on full alert, tracking constantly to make sure no one had seen him. Eventually he considered taking one from random and hoping for the best, until he found something that stood out among the rest.
"Oh... this one looks special" unlike the other paintings this one had electric bolts surging across it , the bolts were quite transparent and made hardly any noise. They were deigned to turn any intruder that touched it into a toony pile of ash. The painting itself did not seem very interesting, just a ladder on a white background. "uggh... modern art..." he hissed.

Although he hated it, he knew that anything that secure had to sell for good money. He looked to its side and saw the number pad needed to deactivate it, with a handy tool he made short work of it, a silent hiss sounding the end of the electricity.

"Nice try bub, but this cat's just too smart for you." He gloated, taking the painting down and into his bag. It was then something caught his attention, a small red button was hidden where the painting had once been. "Hmm..." he pushed it without a second thought.
The ceiling creaked. He looked  up at it, anxious"oh...  that's, not a good sound." it then began to lower down with a frightening swift speed.

He realized he was too far away from the window to make a escape, the door at the end of the corridor was his only hope. On all fours he stormed across the floor, his bag jumping up and down on his back as he ran. A song was blaring loudly  from speakers built into the walls, it was familiar track from a movie saw, but he could not put his paw on it. As the thought went through his mind he realized that the door he ran towards had been opened, this sparked even more confusion, in till he noticed that a secondary metal door was slowly closing downwards. With no time to think he  dived through, his bag getting caught on the door and slipping off. On the other side he reached in and pulled it back, seconds from it shutting. The music slowly fading back to silence."Is this guy... testing me?" he thought out loud, wondering what he had just gotten into.

Now he was in a large hall, a orange carpet lead from the entrance door and up the main stairs  to another door, the room beyond that was likely the dinning room. In the center of the hall, sitting on top of the carpet was a simple yet impressively sized dragon statue, two separate stairways were on either side of the hall with a door at the end of each of them, the blue cat was on the east side, breathing heavily and catching his breath, 'I should watch my step...' he thought.
He gingerly tip-toed own the stairs, he figured the music had woken up it's owner but going fast in a place trapped as it was, was far to risky.

Soon he reached the floor, the marble floor cold to the touch of his sensitive feet. A little more confident he took a few more steps forward, only to feel something suddenly cave inwards. Instincts kicked in and he ducked just a dart labeled 'inflation' shot from the dragon statue's mouth, it missed, striking the stair with a clunk and sticking fast. He got himself back up, sighing with relief, in till he realized his tail was caught on something.

He gulped and felt his body launch towards the floor, his tail snagged in metal rollers. seemed they had appeared by a a sliding trap door behind him. Desperate to escape he throw away the painting and tried to pull himself out, but found nothing to grab, "You clever son-of-a-bit-" Before he finished his family friendly sentence he lost all his grip on the little bit of marble flooring he had tried to cling onto, his legs lifting up and folding him in two as he went.

His papery body floated gently down to the hidden floor beneath, he looked as if he was sitting down with his legs folded against his chest, his feet covering most of his grumpy face. It did not end there, with a whirl of motion he realized he had then been sucked up into a glass pipe, only a few center-meters thick, squishing his body even further he looked almost like a test-tube.  Just like a postal service he was blasted by more air and pushed further up the pipe, the blue cat shrieked all the way,  feeling as though he was on some kind of wacky roller-coaster.
Eventually he stopped, the door opened without a sound. "What's that saying... curiosity squished the cat." An orange paw grabs him.
This was just something I did for :iconsonicinterface: who suggested this as a idea for a story.

I like how he ended up flattened. It's not often I see or hear people get flattened in half.
